Start with a practical aim: reaching the shed, opening up the patio, seeing the boundary or preparing one area for a lawn. That gives the quote a clear stopping point and helps separate essential work from later plans.

Be clear about the kind of clearance.
Our overgrown garden clearance focuses on cutting back unwanted growth and dealing with the green waste agreed in the quote. It is not a general household rubbish-collection service.
Tell us if the growth is hiding dumped material, old structures, unknown containers or anything that might be hazardous. Do not handle it or enter an unsafe area just to take a photograph. Some items may need a different contractor.
Cutting the growth, removing woody bases and dealing with roots below ground are separate jobs. Ask what will remain rather than assuming a clear-looking surface means every root has gone.

Clear enough to use or assess
The aim may be a usable path, accessible boundary or exposed ground. Tell us which areas matter first. Ask what green waste will be removed and what material, planting or stumps will remain.
Ready for the next job
A new fence, lawn or artificial surface needs its own preparation. Existing roots, ground condition, levels, drainage and the route for materials need checking. A cleared surface alone is not a promise that those issues are resolved.
