Terms And Conditions

1) About These Terms

These Terms apply to:

  • Use of this website: https://sharphedges.co.uk

  • Enquiries, quotations, bookings, and work carried out by Sharp Hedges Tree & Garden Services (“we”, “us”, “our”)

If you contact us or book work with us, you agree to these Terms.

2) Quotes, Validity, And What’s Included

  • Quotes are based on what we can see at the time of quoting and what you tell us.

  • Quotes are valid for 28 days from the date issued, unless we state otherwise.

  • Unless stated otherwise, quotes cover the agreed scope only. Anything not clearly included is not included.

  • If the scope changes (extra height/length, extra waste, access issues, hidden obstacles, additional tasks), we’ll agree a revised price before continuing.

3) Access, Parking, And Site Conditions

You agree to provide safe and reasonable access to the work area, including:

  • Clear access routes (including gates/paths) and permission to access relevant areas

  • A suitable place to park/load/unload as close as reasonably possible

  • Pets secured away from the work area

  • Removal of fragile items near the work area (pots, ornaments, lights, furniture)

Dog Fouling
The work area must be free from dog mess. If we arrive and the area is not suitable to work in for hygiene/safety reasons, we may need to reschedule and may charge a reasonable call-out/aborted visit fee.

If we arrive and access isn’t available or the site isn’t safe to work on, we may need to reschedule and may charge a reasonable fee to cover wasted time.

4) Waste Removal

If agreed, green waste is removed from site as part of the job.

5) Trees, Boundaries, And Permissions

  • You confirm you own the trees/hedges to be worked on or have the landowner’s permission.

  • You are responsible for confirming boundary lines and neighbour permissions where relevant.

  • If a tree is protected (for example a Tree Preservation Order) or the property is in a Conservation Area, permissions may be required before work can legally start. We can advise, but you are responsible for ensuring permissions are in place unless we explicitly agree in writing that we are handling the application.

6) Unexpected Issues

Tree and garden work can reveal issues that are not visible beforehand (rot, cavities, unstable ground, hidden fencing/wires, buried items, wasp nests, etc.). If we find something that changes the job, we’ll stop and agree the safest/most practical next step with you. This may change the price or schedule.

7) Weather And Scheduling

  • Start dates and times are estimates and can move due to weather, emergencies, or overruns on earlier jobs.

  • We do not work in conditions that are unsafe (high winds, storms, icy access, etc.). If weather forces a delay, we’ll rearrange as soon as practical.

8) Cancellations And Rescheduling

If you need to cancel or change a booking, tell us as early as possible. Late cancellations can waste an entire day. We may charge a reasonable fee to cover lost time if cancelled at short notice or if we arrive and can’t do the work due to access/safety/permissions not being in place.

9) Deposits (If Required)

We do not usually take deposits, but we may request a deposit for certain jobs (for example larger jobs, multi-day work, or where we are reserving a specific date).

  • A deposit reserves your booking/date.

  • Deposits are non-refundable if you cancel, except where a refund is required by law.

  • If we cancel and cannot re-book you within a reasonable time, any deposit paid will be refunded.

  • Any deposit paid will be deducted from the final balance unless stated otherwise.

10) Payment

All work must be paid for immediately upon completion, unless we agree different terms with you in writing in advance.

11) Damage, Liability, And Insurance

  • We take care and work professionally. Tree and garden work has inherent risk, particularly around older fences, brittle paving, hidden services, weak structures, and fragile garden items.

  • You should highlight anything fragile or any known underground services before work starts.

  • If we cause damage through negligence, we will put it right or agree a reasonable remedy.

12) Photographs

We may take before/after photos for quoting records and quality control. We will not publish identifiable customer details. If we want to use images for marketing and your property is clearly identifiable, we will ask.

13) Website Use And Content

Website content is provided for general information only and may change without notice. We do not guarantee the website will always be available or error-free.

14) Consumer Rights

Nothing in these Terms affects your statutory rights under UK law.
