Defined one-off work

Clear the growth.
Keep the garden.

Overgrowth can hide paths, borders and the useful shape of a garden. The answer is not always to strip everything out. We can agree which vegetation goes, which established planting remains and how far hedges should be brought back.

If trees, stumps or a boundary change are part of the same project, those choices can be discussed together while staying clear in the quote.

01

Hedge cutting and reductions

Bring faces, tops and boundary lines back under control, or discuss a measured reduction where the hedge has outgrown the space.

02

One-off vegetation clearance

Clear dense growth and self-set vegetation while identifying the trees, shrubs or planted areas you want to keep. This is defined project work, not a weekly maintenance round.

03

Tree pruning and removals

Manage trees you want to retain, or plan a removal around buildings, boundaries and the route through the garden.

04

Stumps and changed boundaries

If clearance or hedge removal leaves a stump or opens a boundary, stump grinding and suitable fencing can be assessed as separate follow-on choices.

Access shapes the plan

The route in matters as much as the work area.

Rear gardens can involve gates, narrow turns, shared paths, steps or limited parking. These details do not rule a job in or out by themselves, but they help us choose a workable approach and avoid surprises on the day.

  • What should stay?Name or point out trees, shrubs, beds and screening to retain.
  • Where is the work?A whole-garden view gives more context than a close-up alone.
  • How do we reach it?Show gates, steps, turns, slopes and shared access where relevant.
  • What finish do you want?Agree the usable end state rather than an open-ended “clear everything”.

Spennymoor and surrounding communities

Clear coverage for nearby homes.

Alongside Spennymoor, we welcome suitable enquiries from Tudhoe, Middlestone Moor, Kirk Merrington, Byers Green and Croxdale. Send the postcode, job type and access details so we can confirm the practical next step.

For substantial tree work, property-specific checks may be needed for a Tree Preservation Order or conservation-area controls. Use Durham County Council’s guidance before work where protection may apply.

Useful answers

Before you get in touch.

Can you do a one-off garden clearance without ongoing maintenance?

Yes. We take on defined one-off clearance work focused on overgrown vegetation. We will agree what should stay, what should be cut back or removed, and the intended finish before quoting.

What happens to waste from hedge and clearance work?

Green waste is handled according to the agreed quote. Mixed household rubbish, rubble or concealed non-green material needs separate discussion and is not automatically included in a vegetation-clearance price.

Can a hedge be removed and replaced with fencing?

Potentially. Hedge removal, remaining stump or root work and the new fence are separately assessed so the quote is clear about each stage and the condition of the boundary.

Tell us what is overgrown, what should stay and how the garden is reached. A whole-garden photo and a view of gates, steps or shared access can help us plan, but photos are optional.

For example: narrow gates, no rear access, steps, neighbouring property or parking restrictions.

Useful photos or video can make quoting easier and reduce back-and-forth. If possible, show:

  • Whole job
  • Close-up / problem area
  • Gate / access
