One visit, the whole garden
Gardens get away from people for all sorts of reasons: a house standing empty between tenants, a busy year, a hedge along a lane that nobody has touched. By the time the grass is waist high and the weeds are through the paving, it is a bigger job than a mower can handle.
That is where we come in. We strim and cut back the growth, trim the hedges, clear the paths and take the green waste away, usually in a single day. The Catchgate garden below shows what that looks like, front and back.
If there is a tree to prune or a fence to replace once the overgrowth is gone, we can do that too. Our overgrown garden guide explains how we go about it.
A recent job in Stanley
One Catchgate terrace in June 2025, photographed when we arrived and when we left.

Catchgate, Stanley · June 2025
The front garden of this Catchgate terrace had been left long enough for the grass to go to seed. We strimmed and cut it right back, trimmed the hedge and the shrub by the door into shape and cleared the path, so it looks cared for from the street again.

Catchgate, Stanley · June 2025
Round the back, weeds and brambles had taken over the garden and the steps. We cleared the lot down to bare ground, cut the boundary hedge and took every load of green waste away, leaving a blank canvas for whatever comes next.

Catchgate, Stanley · June 2025
The hedge along the side of the garden had grown out over the ground and up past the shed. We cut the face and top back to a clean, level line so the garden feels bigger and the boundary is clear.
What a clearance includes
A clearance quote is only useful if it says what is being cut, what is staying and what is being taken away. These are the things we settle with you on the visit.

Useful answers
Yes, that is the kind of job we do most in Stanley. Long grass, weeds through the paving, brambles and hedges that have spread are all normal. The Catchgate garden above was cleared front and back in a single day.
Yes. Green waste removal is agreed as part of the quote and is included on almost every clearance. We do not take household rubbish, rubble or mixed waste as part of the service; if there is some in the garden, tell us and we will agree what to do with it.
It is a one-off job with no contract. We do not run weekly or monthly maintenance rounds. If the garden needs doing again in a year or two, you are welcome to get in touch.
Yes. Landlords, letting agents and people selling up ask us to do exactly this. Tell us when the property is empty and how we get in, and we will arrange a visit, quote and date that fits.
Yes. We cut both sides where we can reach them, keep the path clear while we work and sweep up the cuttings afterwards. If the far side is a neighbour’s or the council’s, we will say so and agree what is practical.
